We’re encouraging our smart meter customers to help ease the strain on the UK’s energy network.
In return for saving electricity during peak hours, you’ll be entered into a prize draw to win gift cards from a selection of retailers.
How does it work?

Flex
We’ll run a series of events during peak hours – typically between 4pm and 7pm. During these events you’ll avoid using your most power-hungry appliances.

Save
For every 0.05 kWh of energy you save, you’ll earn one entry. The more you save, the more prize draw entries you’ll earn.

Win
There are 300 x £20 gift cards to be won for each event. Winners get to choose from Amazon.co.uk, Sainsbury’s, M&S, and Just Eat.
How to join Smart Flex
If you’re a Shell Energy customer with a smart meter, we’ll send you an email inviting you to take part in Smart Flex. You’ll only get this invitation if you’ve chosen to hear from us. Learn how to change your marketing preferences.

Find ways to flex
As a rough guide, turning on your oven for 30 minutes would use around 2kWh, and a standard tumble dryer load would use approximately 4.5kWh.
