We’d like to offer customers from Green (Green Supplier Limited) a warm welcome to Shell Energy. As your energy supplier has ceased trading, Ofgem has appointed us to take over your supply.
We understand you have lots of questions, so we’ve been working hard to respond to these. You should find the answers you need on our Help centre.
Don’t worry about the switch
You won’t lose your energy supply at any point during the process, and right now you don’t need to do anything.
Any credit balance you had with Green is safe and protected by regulation. It will automatically move across to your Shell Energy account once you’re set up.
Your details will also automatically move across to us, including your payment information. If you pay by Direct Debit, please continue to do so as normal.
What tariff am I moving to?
Green customers will move onto our Flexible 6 tariff. If you were on an off-peak Economy 7 tariff with Green, you'll move to our Economy 7 version of the Flexible 6 tariff. These are both standard variable tariffs and the cheapest we have available, given today’s wholesale costs. This tariff is protected by Ofgem’s price cap and rates are fixed until 1 April 2022, when the price cap will be revised. This tariff has no exit fees and the rates include 5% VAT.
We adjust our prices in line with Ofgem’s price cap and to reflect wholesale-energy price changes. Ofgem reviewed the price cap in August and the latest price cap came into effect on 1 October 2021. To find out more about these changes, To find out more about these changes, visit our help centre.
Should I get in touch with you?
Right now, there’s no need to contact us. During this busy time, we’d like to reserve our phone lines for those customers who need extra support or to register for additional services.
Please help us to prioritise these customers by finding the answers you need on our site. If you’ve still got questions, you can:
- Find the answer in our frequently asked questions
- Email us
- Chat to our virtual assistant, Ask Us, who can answer your queries 24/7
We’ve started to email new customers with more details about their Shell Energy tariff. If we don’t have your email address, we’ll send you a letter instead, so please keep an eye on the post over the coming days.
