We know this is a worrying time for our customers. If you’re struggling to top up or pay your bills, it can be hard to know who to turn to or what to do.
This is why we want you to know about the £50 million support package we’ve set up to give Shell Energy customers who need it most a little extra peace of mind this winter. If you’re struggling, we can help to make things more manageable.
The Shell Energy customer support package includes:
- £20 million Helpfund set aside to help customers who need financial support, through to the end of 2024
- A multimillion-pound donation to charities and organisations supporting people in the UK through the cost of living crisis
Whatever your situation, if you’re worried about your energy or broadband bills this winter, please do get in touch. We’ve already been able to help thousands of customers, but we know this will be a challenging winter and many more customers will need extra support.

Here are just two examples of how we’ve used the Helpfund to support our customers this year:
We could help during tough times
Recently diagnosed with cancer, Edith* found herself off work with no access to sick pay or other benefits. She was worried about leaving debt for her husband if anything happened to her. We used the hardship fund to clear her balance of £475, allowing her to focus on her health.
We could take some pressure off your budget
Jeff* was finding it hard to make ends meet as he was raising a family alone without much money coming in. His outstanding bills had built up to more than £900, and trying to catch up meant he had even less to budget with each month. We cleared his balance, giving him a little more breathing space.
